[TVARC] MS Walk Volunteers Needed

Clubmates,
It’s that time again.  This year’s MS Walk at The Villages Polo Field will be held on March 14.  Registration for walkers begins at 8:00 AM, and the actual walk will begin sometime between 9:10 and 9:20.
TVARC has provided communications for the MS Walk for years.  We station club members, with radios, at various points around the track in their golf carts.  One club member remains at the starting point as Control Station.  If any walker appears to be in distress, the nearest club member on the track radios a message to the Control Station so that the organizers can be notifies.  Once in a while a walker simply has had enough and requests a ride back to the starting point.
This is a great opportunity for TVARC to provide a service to the community.
Please reply to me if you are interested in participating.  We need between 4 and 8 volunteers with carts.  We have only one club meeting between now and the Walk, so let’s see if we can coordinate participation via email.
Oh, did I mention that volunteers are welcome to graze at the continental breakfast before the Walk begins?
