[TVARC] Elecraft K4 - Who's Interested & What Model (Flavor) Are You Considering?

Hi Members of TVARC's MailList,

I am interested in the new Elecraft "K4" Transceiver.  However, I am not
going to pre-order; instead, I'm content to wait until Elecraft, and these
pre-order buyers (aka "pioneers on-the-bleeding edge"), work out any bugs
that may appear in this brand new transceiver that Elecraft will release
(hopefully soon).

Anybody else thinking about ordering an Elecraft K4?

If so, what model (flavor) are you considering?  K4, K4D or K4HD?

I am inclined toward either the K4D or K4HD.  Elecraft says that the K4HD
is "for competitive field day, contesting, and DXpedition stations."

tab].  Probably the K4D would be more than adequate for operating from a
base station from my QTH in The Villages.  However, with the growing
"congestion" of hams in my "neighborhood" maybe I would need the K4HD to
reject nearby, high-power stations.

Of course, it will be interesting to re-visit those inclinations once
actual production models of the K4 get into the hands of real users and
various independent reviews (QST, Sherwood, etc.) are made available.
