Contact Dorothy Pickel who heads the Metal Detector Club in The Villages. They send out members to find lost keys, coins, rings, etc.

Rich,
I am not an expert on grounding but I once ran into a situation where the house main power ground rod was only 4 ft long and did not provide a proper ground for HF.
I don’t know the code re house ground rods. You might want to check out the building code.

Does anyone have a metal detector that I may borrow for a few days?
I am looking for an earth ground that I know is buried next to my house and would be ideal for me to tap into, for my station ground.
