Pete,

A 90-degree bend of aluminum tubing is well beyond its failure point when
trying to straighten it.  If you can, get some smaller size tubing and
cut the original where the bend is; insert the smaller tubing to bridge
the original pieces; drill a thru-hole between the two pieces to the
center BUT NOT ALL THE WAY THROUGH; insert a rivet in each end to lock
the pieces together and you are good to go.  I did this several times
when ice and/or pine branches whacked my lower tower beams in NH.

I have a rivet tool if you need it.
