Nice antenna! And it sure worked well. Something to be said for Villages temporary contest installations. Wonder how they’d feel about a 160M balloon antenna?

Well done Pete. Approaching 1K QSOs. What an amazing accomplishment, and I really love your 4-el yagi.
As long as we are doing show & tell, here’s a photo of my MFJ Big Ear 10M dipole.
Not exactly stealthy, but by 1800 Sunday it had all but disappeared, not to be seen again til next year.

As I wrote early Saturday morning, that Friday night opening was one for the
record books. And Saturday proved to be pretty good as well. After 400 Qs
Friday, I added another 411 Saturday, mostly during the morning hours.
Sunday was pretty awful though - just 107 for the entire day, but that's 10
meters. We should be thankful for whatever good prop we get. Next year
promises to be even better as we climb the sunspot cycle.
Monitored contestonlinescore.com to see how I was doing relative to other
stations in my LP Mixed (CW+SSB) class, and had a hard fought battle for
first place with WQ5L in Mississippi (although there may be other big scores
that I don't yet know about). He got off to a better start, but sometime
Saturday I caught up and briefly pulled ahead but it didn't last.
Unfortunately, he ended up with 32 more QSOs, but importantly 20 more mults.
Looks like he spent more time on SSB and picked up those mults there, even
though SSB contacts are worth only half those on CW. It's a tricky balance.
I checked him out on QRZ.com, and I've attached photos of his antennas and
mine. So I feel a little better :).
Never did work any Europeans, and only heard one Hungarian station. But did
pick up VK Australia, V5 Namibia, and D4 Cape Verde.
Thanks to all the TVARCers who got me started off Friday night when the only
stations heard were Floridians. Worked
W3US, W3MY, WB2ART, K1CTR, K3ZGA, K2DM, NP2B/4, ND4G, AD4K, K4CYA, N0SMX,
N4FP, N4GL. Did I miss anyone?
W3US was really loud here. And apparently was loud elsewhere too! That
temporary dipole did really well. Nice going, Rusty.
