Ed,
The crash is/was an issue with mostly FT4 and WSJT-X version 2.2.2. I saw it
earlier this year with the WW Digi contest back in August. I was running the
release candidate v2.3.0 rc2, with absolutely no issues.
Also, the interface between N1MM+ Logger and WSJT-X is about as solid as can
be. There is a tricky setup when it comes to the two packages talking to
each other, but I had no issues with logging (set to automatic) and if the
stations only sent a RRR instead of RR73, then it was no problem to click on
the "Log QSO" button in WSJT-X.
I generate 2 files from N1MM+ after the contest. The Cabrillo file for
submitting the contest results to the contest sponsor, and I export an ADIF
file for importing into my master logging program.
If you have any questions or issues with the programs talking to each other,
give me a call.
73, Rich, ND4G

Vy nice effort, Rich. I managed about 75 Qs, split between FT4 & FT8. I
started Saturday evening with N1MM+ and the WSJT-X app but noticed that
contacts were not being echoed to N1MM+ to manage scoring. I changed
over to just WSJT-X and a new log directory to capture QSOs. I had
trouble with FT4 crashing after 10 minutes or so, where, upon rebooting
it, I would have a error message of "invalid ADIF header" before it would
let me continue. I did not have the problem when using FT8. Perhaps the
shorter cycle of FT4 was too much for the program?
I tried to import the resulting adi file into N1MM+ but it threw up all
over the place with error messages. DXLabs took the file with a caveat
of "illegal callsign" although the log entries are right.
I remember when FT4/FT8 first entered the contest world, Don, AA5AU wrote
a tutorial on how to integrate N1MM+ and WSJT-X to work together. It was
kind of convoluted but it worked. Since then, whatever N1MM+ developers
did to marry the two, something got lost in the sauce.
