[TVARC] LOTW Question

George,

Didn’t think this was so complicated. On the other hand, the complication is probably only due to my “inability to communicate”. Or perhaps yous guys are just making sport of me.

QSL Card credits show up in my account. They show up in the DXCC credits awarded column on the “Awards” page along with LOTW credits. DXCC credits awarded means all credits. All credits to your DXCC award. As to your other concern. I am sure that you are aware that nothing ever happens until you initiate it. You upload. You stall a bit and then go to “your QSOs” on the site. It shows your recent uploaded QSOs and looking further you will see your recent confirmations. This is all stuff that you have uploaded and only stuff that you have uploaded. I have noticed that when doing FT8 confirmations happen fast.

No magic here. If you don’t upload it don’t show. In effect, it don’t exist. If you do upload, it shows up in your account.

One note here: I upload everything. All contacts. Don’t care if they use LOTW or not. Don’t care. Let them sort it out. 😊

When the LOTW contacts meet in the program the result goes to the “Awards” account and shows up on the “awards Account” page. Not Cards. Just LOTW credits. When you pays your money it goes to the DXCC Credits awarded column. DXCC credits are a combination of credited LOTW and credited QSL cards. It’s your total DXCC record.

Not really complicated. Just my understanding. Works for me.

Hi Charles,

After reading your email, and discussing this with two other noted club members while working on antennas at The Land today, it seems as though there are two issues here. One is whether card credits find there way into one’s LoTW account, and the other is whether QSOs that have not been uploaded to LoTW magically appear in one’s LoTW account. I can see where credits that one has received through card checking are merged with one’s LoTW credits, but I cannot envision a path where actual contacts that one has not uploaded to LoTW would find their way into one’s LoTW account. For me, it is a question of whether ALL of one’s CONTACTS are in LoTW or whether it is enough that all of the ENTITIES for which one has credit are in LoTW.

Am I wrong?

73,

George K2DM

This is my understanding of the program.

If you go to your LOTW account page, you will see all the DXCC credits in your account.

Unless I unknowingly did something to make this happen, the form shows both card credits and LOTW credits.

The form below shows my account as of this morning.

As you can see, I have a few new LOTW QSLs yet to be credited. I normally wait until this number gets a bit higher before I make a request to have them credited.

During the many years that I have participated in LOTW, I have had card checkers approve Cards that I received from folks who do not participate in the LOTW program.. This activity shows up in this account without any further action on my part.

As you know, ARRL does not charge to upload. They do however charge for getting them credited.

It is my understanding that the LOTW program and the DXCC program along with the other award programs work hand in hand.
