Hi Bob,
For future reference, those western VE mults are easier to find and work on the higher frequencies, so 15 and 10 meters, and especially later in the day when the skip is longer and we’re not fighting with the Midwest.
Good to hear that you and Ralph got on. I was only on for a few minutes here and there.

Thanks, Ralph. I noticed that I’d find a station calling CQ and not a lot of attention, then all of the sudden there was a pile up on him. That has to be the effect of the spotting networks.
I keep dreaming of achieving a Clean Sweep one year. I think this year was the closest I’ve ever come. I did sweep the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 9th call areas. State wise I missed SC, LA, AK, WV, ND and NE. The biggest disappointment were all the Canadian Provinces I didn’t hear.

Good morning, Bob. Nice job.
I was on for a couple hours Sat. eve on 40 mtrs just goofing off. The only station I could not contact was a guy in Wyoming. He was up around 7050 kHz, and I swear every time he finished a contact, it sounded like he was on Bouvet Isl. !!! The QRM had to be killing his run-rate. After about 5-6 tries I gave up. Everyone else I called once and got thru, even KH6TU. 100 watts to the flagpole. Made 15 - 20 Q's and went to bed around midnite.

I did my S&P thing this weekend. My new HWEF did a good job. I used the Flagpole for 80 meters. I could have used some better conditions. I wore my Begali and Vibroplex bugs out calling stations I could hear fine, but, they couldn’t hear me! But, a good time was had no less.
