[TVARC] HOA & Antenna Restrictions

Do people ride around your areas up there looking for things to report? It seems like they could find something more constructive to do with their time. When we lived in Coral Springs, I started into ham radio and had a wire laying on the roof of our house to listen to SW picking up code to learn from. A letter came in the mail that the 'antenna' would have to come down or they (the city of Coral Springs) would take us to court. Turned out it was the water meter reader who kept turning me in.

Lest you think the restrictions are stringent in T.V., there was a law against trucks (all trucks) being in the city. Our neighbor had a brand new pickup that had to be inside his garage, meanwhile my old beater Dodge could sit out in the driveway without a problem.

Basically I agree that we should “not rock the boat yet with The Villages.
I also agree that having good neighbors definitely helps in a complaint driven system EXCEPT, we seem to have roving complainers!! One good change would be to disregard complaints from anyone not located in the area!! That would be a great step forward.
No matter how much we work with our neighbors to ensure they are not upset with our antenna structures, we all live in fear of the people just riding around looking for things to complain about!!
