[TVARC] Ground Rod

The response to my query for installation suggestions of my ground rod was
overwhelming. Each email I received took me in a different direction.
First I was going to attach my power drill to the top of the rod and press
the button, but the diameter was just a bit too large. Then I was going to
cut the rod in two and install a pair of rods. Then a sledgehammer was the
only way to pound them in. Margheritas were also suggested when the heat
and exhaustion set in.
Jackhammer rentals, fence post drivers, lightening protection installer guy
to do it instead of me, were other options. Also specially designed
fittings to adapt water into the hole.
But the best of all, was when Sam, KB8SB called me and offered to come over
and bring his what I think was a fence post driver, and we drove that baby
all the way down into the ground (I say we, but Sam did most of the
pounding)!
Thanks to K1LTJ, ND4G, K3ZGA, WA3CTZ, KK2Y, NP2B, K9IA, W1EJM, K9EK, KC1JZC,
and NX2I for their suggestions. Nice to see so much support in the club.
73, Pete, K2PS
