[TVARC] ARRL RTTY RU

For the most part, you are correct and 1-2 minute difference is probably no
issue.
However, I found one extreme scenario where I was trying to get a particular
contact, and left him to make other Qs, and then came back later to try
again about 15 minutes later. When I finally logged the QSO, WSJT-X
maintained the original time as the start time for the contact. I am not
sure if I logged the original time, and the other guy logged the ending
time, the difference may have voided out both our scores.
Just saying.

Thanks for all that, Rich. I never had a chance to try this stuff out over
the weekend, but now with family all winging their way back to the frigid
north, I can get to it. Sounds fantastic!

One immediate thought - I don't think you need to worry about the timestamp
being off by a few minutes. The log checking is tolerant, I'm sure, for
differences of the magnitude of this problem.

Hi Ed,

The release of N1MM+ just prior to the RTTY RU has a new window. It was a
screen capture window for all callsigns calling "CQ" in the FT8 waterfall
that you are viewing with WSJT-X.
All I needed to do was a single click on a call, and it populated the WSJT-X
fields for replying, and most importantly populated the N1MM+ call entry
field. This allowed for immediate "dupe" checking. This also essentially
eliminated the need for JTAlert-X which was originally needed for that very
purpose.

As for the rest of the integration, everything worked perfect. All FT8
contacts went over to N1MM+ for logging showing all multipliers. Multiplier
windows were updated correctly and the score was constantly being updated
correctly.
Lastly, the Cabrillo file from N1MM+ after the contest showed all contacts
corrected logged for RTTY as "RY", and the FT8 contacts as "DG". NOTE: For
the contest setup in N1MM+, you needed to select the "Digital" mode rather
than the RTTY mode for this to happen.

Review my original post to the Reflector for my configuration with a second
or separate shortcut to launch N1MM+ using a different ".INI" file
configured for the FT8 mode. i.e.- no CAT Control because WSJT-X was in
charge.
The new window in N1MM+ was so nicely integrated, I even noticed that if I
closed WSJT-X first (intending to switch to RTTY mode), the new N1MM+ window
recognized that WSJT-X just closed, and gives me a prompt to close N1MM+?
Then I simply launch N1MM+ from my old original shortcut to operate RTTY.
One thing I think needs to be resolved however, is the time of the FT8 QSO.
The "Start" time from WSJT-X is what was being sent over to N1MM+ rather
than the "End" time. Depending on circumstances, this could be several
minutes apart, and I was conscious of that, and was changing the time on the
fly during the contest.

Rich,

I'm curious how it worked out with FT8, RTTY and N1MM+. I do not have
N1MM+ loaded since my setup is just a simple single op and N1MM+ is
geared toward big, complex operations. Anyway, I was able to merge my
FT8 QSOs with the import function in N1MM. The only hiccup was that I
had to manually insert the states and serial numbers for the FT8 contacts
that were ported over, and the Cabrillo file had to be fixed to change
the "FT" field value to be "RY" so the robot would accept it.
