[TVARC] Hamcation Day 1

I wholeheartedly agree!

It was my first time at HAMCATION and, as George mentioned, it was a fantastic day!

I felt so good that I decided to perform some spontaneous acrobatics in the building where the inside tailgaters were. I did this trick while still seated in my wheelchair!  I was crossing over a cable protector, a hump about three inches high, and must have leaned backwards.  I wound up on my back...thud!  I scared the heck out of, Karen! (Sorry about that...from now on, I’ll behave...)  Four fellow hams helped me right the chair.  I was slightly embarrassed but exclaimed; “Not bad for a (71 yo) old guy!”  So far, no pain... “What A Goofball!”

Big THANK YOU to “Karen and George” for pushing my chair through the muck and soft ground when we were “Off-roading” to get to some tailgaters and to Dick and Larry’s Burger Emporium!  They really put themselves out there for TVARC Members!  TNX Guys!  It was GREAT 👍‼️

It was a hoot seeing TVARC Members and an old ham buddy from back home!  A fun take and I recommend it to all hams...!

The weather was perfect, the flea market aisles (indoors and outdoors) weren’t too crowded, prices seemed more reasonable than recent years, the equipment vendors were out in force, and the lunch provided by Dick and Larry was superb.  TVARC members were out in force, and others will head down tomorrow.  There were at least a dozen of us sitting around the RV at lunchtime.  Many thanks again to Larry and Dick for there generosity.
 
Karen, Tom and I did our best to see everything, but I am certain we missed a lot.  I spent way too much on inventory, but I still may go back tomorrow to look around some more.  Too bad this only happens once a year!
