I’ve seen that happen before too, but I think it’s a different situation. I believe what’s occurring is that ND0TS intentionally calls the other guy just in case you don’t come back to him right away. He’s slightly increasing his rate…or at least that’s been my interpretation.

I'm having it happen now. ND0TS doesnt finish and runs off to another station, but he finishes with them. Then he gives me a signal report but I'm not txing any longer...

Last night Karen spent hours calling a 5T5. He came back to her call a number of times, but never followed up to finish the contact until finally he did. Karen kept complaining that he seemed to be jumping around in frequency all night. Could this be a similar issue?

Subject: [TVARC] FT8 Question
I noticed this morning that it appears that my FT8 frequency is changing without my input.
Here’s a snip from the activity. I finished with JG1ERW, then called CQ on 2676. All of a sudden, I’m on 494, calling JA1EOD. I’m thinking he may be a “fox,” automatically changing my frequency - but I’m not in “hound” mode. There’s an added complexity in that JA1EOD then immediately starts a QSO with K2PSD, a similar callsign, leaving me calling JA1EOD until I realized something was amiss. This is the second time this occurred this morning. I thought somehow I must have changed it in a senior moment, but when it happened again…
Error! Filename not specified.
Is this an FT8 bug? I’m still on 2.0.1, BTW.
