The Florida QSO Party (FQP) is this weekend.

I'd like to encourage any of you who have HF capabilities to get on and
enjoy the fun! You don't need a big antenna or high power to participate,
since everyone else is desperately trying to work YOU. The exchange is
easy: Yours is 59(9)SUM(Sumter county) or LAK(Lake) or MAO(Marion); outside
The Villages, check your county abbreviation here
https://floridaqsoparty.org/counties/counties-list/ ; Non-Florida stations
will send 59(9) and their state/province/DX prefix. Just call "CQ FQP" and
log 'em. N1MM+ has a module for this contest.

It starts at noon Saturday and goes for ten hours. Then ten more on Sunday,
but starting earlier, at 8A.

You can work stations on each 40, 20, 15, and 10, but with propagation these
days, you'll find stations mostly on 40 and 20. You can also work a station
on both CW and SSB too.

Here are the official rules: https://floridaqsoparty.org/rules/

There will be quite a few mobile stations going from county to county, and
you can work them from every county they are in. But it's difficult for us
to work many other FL counties due to propagation. (Counties don't count as
multipliers for FL stations, BTW.)

Wayne (N4FP) and I are planning to operate from about half of the counties
in the state, but strictly on CW. So look for us! Once you locate N4FP,
you'll be able to find us on roughly the same frequency every time. And the
other mobiles will also be found in these ranges:

CW: 7.025-7.035, 14.040-14.050, 21.040-21.050, 28.040-28.050 MHz

SSB: 7.230-7.240, 14.265-14.275

Those ranges are strictly reserved for mobile stations, so when you call CQ,
be sure to be higher or lower than those.

If you decide to send in your log, be sure to enter as "The Villages Amateur
Radio Club".

For those of you really into this, here are some links that will allow you
to follow mobile stations around the state. They matter more to stations
outside FL who've got reliable prop to all parts of our state. I've never
used any of these, but they are intriguing;
