Always my favorite contest, even with a multiband vertical and 100 W. I
told the XYL early in the week that I would be operating all weekend and
not to be disturbed. I found out Friday that the grandkids would be
staying for the weekend because their mom was going away with her
fiance'. My protest expression was greeted with a "So what?" stare from
her. (Bright spot: grandson #2 kept giving a minute-by-minute update on
the Ohio State slaughter of Michigan!)
I forged ahead, operating strickly S & P since calling CQ was a fruitless
effort. Judging by the number of "K2?" responses I got to my calls, S &
P was justified. 80 and 40 were great as expected with the absence of
sunspots. It would have been nice to join the bottom feeders on 160
given our proximity to the Carribean, hi.
All whining aside, I managed to break 500 Qs for my best effort in CQ CW
since moving here in 2015. Mni tnx to Pete, K2PS for the mult on 40 &
15. I noticed there was no VP2Mxx station on; The VP2MUW guys folded
shop on Friday and went home. (Gotta do something about that...)
