George,

I got a kick out of your solution to the K3 problem.  Back when I was
working, I had a sign in my office that I made up:  "System Diagnostics:
1. Hardware problem - kick it; 2. Software problem - shoot it."

I can sympathize with you on the amplifier problems.  The humid climate
down there and lack of AC in storage rooms means molds and mildew have a
field day.  When I operated in Grenada at the turn of the century, I
donated an SB-220 amp for the station we had.  It worked fine the first
year we used it.  When I went down the second year, the 15 meter
bandswitch did not work.  Flipping the lid, we saw some ugly stuff around
the contacts.  Cleaning did not help much so we used another amp in its
place.

Glad everyone had a good time and handled the usual Murphy visit in
stride.  Nothing like the rush you get being the ONLY STATION IN THE
COUNTRY, hi.
