I will be discussing the parameters for flattop wire(s) on Flagpoles in my TVARC presentation April 19th.


My "modeling" of your antenna and 'Ground Plate" (below) shows that it's Vswr on 75/80M is very high. Our tests from 2/21/18 also show that to be true as well.


Have a look at the 2 photos below, but suffice it to say that for 75/80 meter operation your 75' flattop is far too long to be near resonance and requires tuning, but that would cost you on your performance on 160M and 40M.

Comments: Well, conditions were pretty pathetic once again. There was a
minor opening on 10 meters to South and Central America. Even 160 meters I
found to be dead. I made some adjustments for 80 meters with some assistance
of Don, W1EJM and his antenna analysis program, but still no joy. I need to
re-address this issue in the coming weeks, as the weather gets warmer, but
before it gets too hot (for me). As I anticipated, on Sunday while working
several of the "Big Gun" stations with scores exceeding 2,000 QSO's; they
went out of their way to mention or thank me for the multiplier.
