[TVARC] FT8 during ARRL Field Day

George,

There is a new version 9 of FT8 that is advertised as "DXpedition
capable".  It is still undergoing field tests from Joe Taylor before
going main stream, although I've seen reports of some guys already using
it.  It is designed to support up to 500 contacts/hour.  For Field Day,
however, I doubt very many folks will the new version since there is not
likely to be a lot of FT8 stations.  (Hope I'm wrong!).  For the
exchange, it may be possible to change the report transmission to "2A
NFL".  FT8 has a 13 character limit field so a 10+ operation (e.g., 10A)
and a 3-character section would use seven characters (space counts as
one).
