I had one of those "knee bands" To run counties on CW. Quit running
counties. 
Times change. 
Finally came to understand that it was dangerous. 
Finally discovered that multitasking while driving wasn't smart.
Same thing with smoking. Took someone to tell me that it was "short of
Smart". 
Guess that's when the bitter truth hit me right square in the face. 
Guess that's when I discovered that I'm not a genious afterall.

...and here I thought texting while driving was bad!  Did they actually sell

Pete,

I remember the J-38 key well.  I used to have one with the knee band so I
could go mobile with the key around my knee and send while driving.  I used
a tape recorder to record Qs to play back later to fill out my log. 
I had a lot of fun putting out counties that way, hi.
