I also use texting with my brother re ham things including dx.  However, group texting (that is what it is called I believe), requires everyone to have the same group in their contact list and for it to work, any changes require everyone to make the change. If set up like our Reflector, only one address/number would be used and the group would be maintained by an ‘administrator’. With a large group, administration by everyone vs one person becomes a very difficult matter.
For me, texting is the answer - just have to find the system to do it.
Going to contact my tech team (my children) and see if they can help.
