Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware); Definition: "the principal that the buyer alone is responsible for checking the quality and suitability of goods before a purchase is made”

Due, in part, to the lack of “brick and mortar” HAM stores in Florida, we are often left to the mercy of online sellers to sell us reasonable quality and suitable products. Much of the time sellers do just that.

Once and a while a seller takes advantage of their remoteness from the buyer. One such seller is K1CRA Radio Store based in Casco ME. Several months ago I purchased a telescoping mast and tripod from K1CRA. I relied on the seller's recommendations but to my dismay the mast did not fit the tripod and the mast is of very poor quality. To date, the seller has not offered a refund or suggest a satisfactory other solution to the problem. He doesn’t answer the phone and often doesn’t respond to emails.

My point? Avoid K1CRA if possible.
