While we miss living in The Villages, there are advantages to having room
for antennas. This weekend, in the CQ 160 meters CW contest, I worked all
states except Alaska, Hawaii, Nebraska, and Washington, and worked 17
countries. I was amazed at how good conditions were on 160 meters.

Comments:
Flex 6300, AL-80B, 160 Meters Inverted L at 60 ft. Great band conditions
until early Sunday when there was a lot of QSB. I really appreciate having
room for a reasonable 160 meters antenna vs the 35ft vertical I previously
used on 160 in The Villages with a 17 ft fishing pole hoisted above my 22
ft flagpole. I am proud I earned the 'Worked All Briggs Brothers Award'
(K2DM, K3ZM, VY2ZM), which was one of my main goals in entering the contest.
Hope to earn it again in the SSB contest next month.
