I was in my first competition (NAQP) yesterday and had lots of fun. We had company and projects to do so I was only able to sit down at the radio for about 2-3 hours. I made 27 contacts which included 19 states and 3 countries. California and Hawaii were two of the states. Yay! I added to my DXCC by contacting Barbados, the Cayman Islands and Haiti. Thanks to George for putting up the dipoles for 40M and 80M to augment the SteppIR vertical. Because he’s also my Elmer, he helped me tune in stations and figure out what their call signs were. I have lots of practice ahead of me but it was an exciting start.
