Maybe if you put the antenna on a comfortable chair instead of just a footstool it could have gotten out better.

Made 4 contacts in 4 states.  ME, DE, PA and RI

 

Well. That was fun. Not much time. about an hour. Spending a few days down on Longboat Key, FL. Brought my K1 and a Magloop along. Signals were loud but most folks didn't want to hear me. Hard to imagine why. Three watts to a Magloop?  All on 40.  Even called F6HKA several times. No luck. Imagine that.

Still just reinforces the argument that it don’t take much.
