I’ll be listening for you, Pete.

Don’t forget this is also the SKCC WES Weekend Sprint this weekend. The WES starts at 7am Saturday and runs through 7pm Sunday. The speeds will be about 15wpm on average and they have an interesting Bonus points opportunity as well. The WES rules and details can be found at www.skccgroup.com on the WES page.

A lot of ops are trying for the new 3 Key award that started on Nov 10. It is for 100 Qs each with a straight key, bug and Cootie/Sideswiper. So some folks will be working with keys that they are not real comfortable with!

Subject: [TVARC] ARRL 10M Contest

The ARRL 10 meter contest starts at 7P tonight, and runs through Sunday night at 7P.  I plan to operate both CW and SSB whenever the band is open – which is probably rarely.  I did just work a weak station in Chile with my temporary 4 element yagi.  I put up the antenna a couple of days ago, and finally made a QSO.  Unfortunately, it will come down early next week.

But in the meantime I plan to make as many contacts as possible, and don’t hold out much hope for a large number, given  the dismal propagation.  So any contacts I can make with you locals can count a great deal.  I’ll be able to work you on both CW AND SSB, but you’ll be more likely to find me on CW since contacts there are worth 2 points, while SSB is only 1.

Tonight generally gets lots of stations out, usually with Sporadic-E propagation to the midwest or southwest, and they should be workable until maybe 10P, our time.  Then the band dries up and we won’t hear anything except during daylight hours tomorrow and Sunday.  Saturday night is usually a bust.  But you never can tell!

Looking to work many TVARCers!

73, Pete, K2PS
