[TVARC] K4QR's Whimper: FQP K4QR SOAB SSB LP

Hi Members of TVARC's MailList:

Below is my (K4QR) whimper about my results in the 2018 Florida QSO Party
(FQP) contest.   My score is too dismal to call this a "brag" so it's a
whimper. 😢

On April 28 (Saturday), and April 29 (Sunday), I managed to participate in
the FQP for a few hours during each of this contest's two sessions from my
base station, at my home QTH (in The Villages, FL). I operated as a Single
Operator (SO) on All Bands (AB*) with no assistance and used Low Power (LP;
100 watts). *Note: Although my entry category was SOAB, I actually ONLY
worked 20 meters (Unfortunately, this contest does not have a category for
single-band operation).

Band conditions were DISMAL!  My rate of contacts was an abysmal 2.4/hour
(13 contacts in about 5.5 hours). Heard very few signals on the contest's
HF bands. Heard a couple of stations inside Florida (only worked 1 Florida
County --- Sumter thanks to NP2B/4 & W4CRV). Heard only a few stations
outside Florida (worked 9 States, 2 Canadian Provinces & 1 DX station).
Heard about three other TVARC members working this contest, including
NP2B/4, W4CRV & K2DM.
