[TVARC] FT8 and Field Day

I think it might be time to reflect on Field Day. I always remembered Field Day as a way for Amateur Radio personnel to maintain and facilitate emergency communications - especially without commercial power. 
Yes it is a contest but not it’s purpose. 
Most modes used by us allows valuable transfer of information. However, the purpose of FT8 and similar modes does not facilitate this need. 
I personally would love to have. Contest mode for FT8. But I don’t think it belongs as part of Field Day. 
Just my personal opinion.
