Here is how I did my PVC passthrough

Tools..... Use a 12" drill extension for 1/4" concrete drills and a 1/2" inch concrete bit with 1/4 " shank (be sure the coupling on the extension is smaller than the drill diameter (big box store items) , so that gives you the length needed to go through the concrete block, insulation and wall board but don't drill through yet.

1- Inside.... Figure out where the 2 studs that will straddle the pass through location are.

2- Then measure each of those back to a window glass edge on that wall as well as the floor height to the window glass.

3- Outside... Use those dimensions to locate the spot where to drill the pass through.

4- Drill through using the concrete bit into the stud cavity. STOP

5- Guide a sharpened coat hanger through the hole and pierce the wallboard gently so you can be sure you have the right spot.

6- Use a compass and make a circle the OD of the PVC + 1/4" on the Inside and the Outside. (Note... use 2" PVC or preferably bigger)

7- Outside, drill through with the 1/2" just touching the inner edge of the circle, (bit inside of the circle), stop when you are just through the concrete.

8- Inside, you will want to use an electrical box to finish the wall smoothly. You will need to cobble up a coupling mate from the PVC to the back of the box. Use a drywall saw to make the rectangular hole in the wallboard for fit the box.

9- Clean up the edges of the concrete holes with a chisel if needed.

10- Push in the PVC and caulk on the outside to make watertight.

11- Mount an outdoor utility box outside so your right angle connector is protected and run the PVC straight down 2-3 inches in the ground, then a smooth bend in the coax will point you toward where it needs to go. Makeup some kind of plug in the utility box to prevent bugs from entering.

Worked for me.

Coax through the wall....

Use a short coax with connectors.
Use right angle connectors both inside and outside so you can dress the coax to the wall without exceeding the allowable bend radius, weather protect where needed.

Outside,

Use Direct Burial (no conduit) and go down 5-6". Be sure to mark the path on your notes and keep it where you might be able to find it!

I like to run 2 pair of coax and some irrigation control cable between the house and the antenna so I can click relays. I also buried a waterproof 120vac cable in the trench so I can plug it in to the outside house outlet so I can get power at the base.

Hope this helps,

Subject: [TVARC] Drilling through 'stucco' walls for antenna coax

Hi.
I am planning to drill through from our front 'office' to put in a pvc pipe for a coax feedthrough.
The home is concrete block an 'Iris' model.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
