When 10 opened it opened big.  But, I called and called VP2MDG,  running 900 watts to my 160 meter inverted L, with no luck in the pileup.  KM4HI lives 3 miles from me, has a beam, and worked George and told him I was calling.  George stood by and heard me, so I completed my six band sweep.  Marty was yukcalling with her 100 watts and 40 meter inverted L with no luck.  We heard George work Karen and we heard both John and Jeanette work George.  As a last effort I built a 10 meter dipole and replaced Marty's 20 meter dipole at 50 ft with the 10 meter dipole, and she worked George almost immediately.  I think our inverted L antennas, mainly vertical on 10 meters, were skipping over George, since I had been working South America all afternoon with no problem.  What a great hobby, so much fun, so many friends.73, Wayne
