[TVARC] ARRL Sweepstakes

I grew up in North Dakota and have been back many, many times. If you
haven't been there don't knock it! Summers, Spring and Fall are beautiful
times. Winters are very enjoyable also -- other than cold temperatures and
a heck of a lot of other northern states. Keep looking --there are guys on
during contests. I don't like SSB or any of the digital modes so I don't
operate them. Spend some time learning high speed CW and you may enjoy it
more.

My first license was issued in July 1951 and I was the first Novice licensed
in ND. Most of the hams I still know are not contesters. They prefer to
talk to each other and still are very active on 160. Also the whole state
is interconnected by 2 meters so most are either on 160 or 2 meters.
