Hi Members of TVARC's Maillist,

Did you notice that TVARC's website now shows an additional activity at our
ham club meeting on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017? Read on for more details
about this activity billed as an "HT Programming Session for Yaesu/ICOM".

During the "Social/Elmer Hour" part of our club meeting on November 16,
2017, Bruce Cusanelli (WA1UTQ) will be conducting the first in a series
(hopefully) of sessions designed to help people get their HTs (handhelds;
handy-talkies; handheld transceivers) programmed. During this programming
session (from about 6:05 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. EST), Bruce will help you
program your Yaesu or ICOM HTs; so, be sure to bring them to this meeting.
Bruce is also a guru on programming other, popular mobile rigs, including
digital ones, especially Yaesu's Fusion [a registered trademark of Yaesu].

Bruce plans to manually program your Yaesu & ICOM HTs. However, if you can
bring in your HT's programming software (on your laptop), then Bruce can
try to help you use it to program your particular HT. Such software
includes "CHIRP" (http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home/ ) &
the various product offerings from "RT Systems" (
https://www.rtsystemsinc.com/ ) and maybe others.

Bruce will handle as many people as possible that need this programming
service. However, he's also graciously agreed to be the Activity Lead
(coordinator) for future HT programming sessions. So, if there's enough
demand, Bruce will schedule more of these sessions at future meetings.
He'll also need members, especially those with HT programming software, to
volunteer to be the conductor at these future sessions.

73,

Tony Hackenberg/K4QR
TVARC's Secretary
