Hi Members of TVARC's MailList (hosted by QSL.net via mailman.qth.net),
TVARC's "Amateur Radio" event at The Villages' "Camp Villages 2017" is this
Thursday, June 22, 2017. In addition to their kit-building experience at
this event, the kids will also be encouraged to operate the HF (ham)
stations that we'll be setting-up at the Colony Recreation Center. They
will be calling CQ, and hopefully, getting a response from one, or more, of
the four (4) club members who have volunteered to monitor for the kids' CQs.
If you want to listen in, and perhaps, help with responding to CQs (if the
volunteer monitoring stations are too busy), here are the starting/initial
frequencies you should monitor starting around 11 a.m. EDT:
40 meters 7.222 +/- QRM
20 meters 14.240 +/- QRM
Of course, we may have to adjust our operating frequencies based on band
conditions (and interference). However, if we do change frequencies, look
for e-mail updates to the club's reflector (maillist) and/or our self spots
on the DX spotting clusters (i.e. DXwatch @ http://www.dxwatch.com &
DXsummit @ http://www.dxsummit.fi ).
73,
Tony Hackenberg/N8SK
