[TVARC] communications blackout?

I was downloading and installing the latest WSJT-X to look at the new FT8
mode, and also the latest fldigi while I was at it.

During the configuration of fldigi, I didn't hear many signals on any bands
40-10 meters. Perhaps a handful of CW signals on 20.

Scary, but, I read about the solar storm that Wayne posted here a couple of
days ago.. Are we in the blackout period right now?
