Earl/John,
I had mentioned to John a property next to the Polo Field(I forgot the name, but I believe they are a golf course/maintenance organization). The structure is in an open area and would be ideal for antennas. Don't know if he was able to contact them. Another thought is the Polo Field itself. Is it possible, there is a room in that large structure that we could use? Contact information is at:

I am a snowbird so I will not be back until October. Interestingly, our club here in Montgomery County Maryland is also looking to get a club operating station, and the thoughts now are focused on buying a trailer and getting a fire department, fire and rescue, hospital, or any government or private organization to allow parking and a modest antenna.
Just some thoughts..... look forward to returning.

I like your thinking Bob. Do we know anyone in the sales department?

Sounds like a good selling feature for the Villages real estate people. HOA restrictions scare away a lot of hams considering relocating to The Villages.

Folks,
I need some help here. As you know, I am the chairman of the committee investigating the possibility of putting up a club station.
This is the basic criteria. It needs to be accessible pretty much 24/7 so that Club members can use it when they want, so it could be available for training and educational purposes and available for contests, etc. We also need to have it in a place where we can put up a modest but effective antenna system such as a hexbeam and something for 40 & 80 meters. It should be fairly close in so as to be accessible to all Village residents.
I have run into a stone wall with the sheriff's department and the fire department. Does someone know someone in the Villages organization that could help us find such a facility?
If so, please call me at 352 633-2910.

John, NP2B
