I wasn't intending to spend any time on this contest, but I did want to test
out my new 20-6M G5RV that I got from KM4CRY (now KB4BC). Thanks, Bruce! I
used it on 10, 15, and 20, and it seemed to work well. I don't have my
remote relay switch set up yet (need to buy about 75' of 4-conductor cable),
and so had to go outside and swap coax to get on 40 with my old 40M vee. So
once 40M opened up I made the switch and finished with that.
40M was the money band for me in this one. Don't have to compete with many
yagis there, and the EU opening was pretty nice, especially starting around
2200Z. Interesting Qs were: Saudi Arabia, Western Australia, and even a
pirate "HQ" station in the pro-Russian occupied Donbass region of eastern
Ukraine. You never know what you're gonna get!
I'll have to put this one on the list of worthwhile contests from TV, since
there are lots of stations workable, and CQing even works. But I wouldn't
attempt a serious effort on SSB. CW is the only way to go.
