[TrunkCom] remote scanner

Is it possible to set up a scanner in one city and listen to and control it
from another city using a PC?  I want to do this for several cities but
can't seem to find a way to make it work.  I would like to use a BC 796D but
I am open to other scanners as well.  Thanks to anyone that can help.
