Actually, at this time the only QPSK-C on MARCS after they change over
will be Columbus, which is the only simulcast site on the system.
However, this will not happen until build-out is completed late next
year. MARCS uses 12.5kHz spacing, so I don't expect them to require
Phase II, especially since current radios are not quite Phase II capable
account battery life issues. But then, one never knows.
But you're right, this spoon-feeding is ridiculous, and lack of QPSK-C
capability is poor planning to say the least. The QPSK-C specs are right
there in the P25 documents with everything else.
