Can a trunk system can transmit a DPL on the transmitted signal?
The reason I am asking is that with the recent changes on the New Jersey
State Police trunk system, I am now seeing a consistent DPL of 365 on =
all
Southstar Medevac transmissions (TG 26800) and I am also now seeing a =
DPL of
315 on the Hospital Net (TG 28304). =20
Prior to the recent changes I had never seen any PL/DPL's on the
NJ trunk system, and I am not seeing it on any other TGs at this time.
I had always thought that trunk systems relied on sub-tones for control
functions which would rule out PL/DPL usage.=20
Thanks! - Kel
(Added Comment: It just so happens that I have a CSI tone decoder on my
BC-780 that I use to track the NJSP system and all of a sudden last week =
I
started to notice that it was decoding a DPL tone on the Medevacs and =
the
Hospital Net. At first I thought it was just a fluke, but I watched and =
see
it happens every time and only on those talkgroups, regardless of what
actual frequency the TG was assigned to. )
