Hi everyone. Has anyone heard any word on the progress of the Detroit
trunked system that will be for public safety eventually? I am across
town from the site that is up and running now, and if I find the right hot
spot and all I hear nothing on it, and I will check to see how well the
signal is when I go downtown tomorrow, but I haven't heard much. on it at
all. SOme people have said the end of the year is when they make the cut
over, and other people have said it is at least two years outk, and that
the old 20-channel freqs will just be used with the new system.
Also, I am getting ready to program the Wayne County new system,
the 4718 site which is now fully type II with a digital talk group used
by radio techs, and again I have heard varying report on when everyone is
to go all digital now. The old type I control channel is there still, but
I take it that they are no long r simulcasting coms on that old type I
system?
