Greetings to those working on the GRE APCO-25 Digital Trunk Tracker,
Please add in an option that allows disabling/enabling
monitoring of 'Status Bits' of a Pure Type II Motorola Trunk System.
For those of us in St Louis, Missouri, having the ability to
'Disable' this feature is important.
The reason: there are times when I do not want to monitor any-single
talkgroup. But only want to catch 'All Points Bulletins' & 'Officer
Emergency' button presses.
Right now, my PRO-92B does not provide this feature. Makes it
fustrating just trying to catch those pursuits, when the rest of the
talkgroups are also busy (A common problem on the St Louis City
Police Trunk System).
When the dispatchers go 'ALL POINTS', their ID+7 ID displayed does
*NOT*,repeating this: DOES NOT align with the actual Talkgroup
that the dispatcher is affiliated with. This applies to the St Louis
City System.
In other words, if the District 3 (57392) dispatcher pushes their
'ALL POINTS' button, their 'ALL POINTS' ID+7 may not popup
with 57399. It could be any District Talkgroup+7 (ID+7).
So, having an ability to Disable the 'STATUS BIT' monitoring is
very important for us in St Louis, Missouri. Please take this
into consideration when designing the new GRE APCO-25
Digital Trunk Tracker. The PRO-92B does not support it.
And will not allow me to manually key-in the individual District
Talkgroup ID+7 (ALL POINTS) & ID+2 (EMERGENCY
BUTTON) entries into the SCAN banks.
*EXAMPLE* Here is a perfect example of this problem.
The District 7 (57488) dispatcher just went 'ALL POINTS' with
the dispatch of a 'HOLDUP' call. The ID+7 that popped up was
57719. That's right 57719. So what is 57719? Its 57712+7
(ID+7). 57712 is INFO A. But it was the District 7 dispatcher.
She even said: 'ATTENTION ALL CARS, District 7, meet the
victim of a HOLDUP'. If I had the 'STATUS BIT' mode turned
'ON'. and sitting on the District 7 talkgroup or any talkgroup
other than 'INFO A' (Or been using my PRO-92B) I would have
missed this broadcast.
As you can see, it is a problem.
