scanner actually having hands and trying to pick up letters or acronyms =
listed on a piece of paper, or could mean the process of receiving an RF =
signal and processing it.  Could you clarify for us?

Could you explain for us what you mean by "differences"  you might be =
referring to how each of these protocols that you listed differ from =
each other by sound, or maybe by engineering, or how about who owns the =
protocol, or how they differ being heard on a radio.  I think that a lot =
of us are further confused, since we don't know if the scanner is going =
to bend over and pickup one of these protocols, or if you are referring =
to the receiving aspect of the signal.

Thus, could you clarify a little further how "pick up" and "differences" =
were intended to be used together, and what exactly you are looking to =
accomplish?
