Greetings All,
Referencing my last message. Let's take it one step further.
On the Table, instead of using the settings of enable/disable,
let's change that to actual numerical value settings.
Here is a possible situation:
Numeric Settings:
0 = Disabled
1 = Enabled (Enables monitoring of the Status Bit broadcast ; Displays
origin talkgroup of Status Bits, then returns scanner to
previous state at end of the transmission)
2 = Enabled (same as '1', but turns on the Display light during the
transmission)
3 = Enabled (same as '2', but radio emits 3-Beeps at beginning of
broadcast)
4 = Enabled (same as '3', but radio emits the 3-beeps for 10 seconds)
5 = Disabled (Disables monitoring of the Status Bit Broadcast, However
the radio will display the origin talkgroup along with
the Status Bit type on the display screen)
6 = Disabled (Same as '5', but radio emits 3-beeps for an alert)
7 = Disabled (Same as '6', and turns on the Display Lght for the duration
of the transmission)
8 = Disabled (Same as '7' and 3-beeps continue for the duration
of the transmission)
There is room for more here, as you can see. And each status Bit listed
in the table can have its own numeric setting. Plus, add one more feature.
If the Status Bit in the Table (from the previous message) has been givin a
numeric value between 1-8, and during the Status Bit transmission, if the
user hits the 'ENTER' key, the radio automatic switches to the origin
talkgroup (of the status bit), and locks onto that talkgroup (Call it
'automatic HOLDing of the status bit talkgroup).
There is room for more here... Lots more............
