Greetings All,
Even if the Pro-96 does not have a fix to the Multi-Select delima,
I still have several work-arounds to solve this, though not officially
prescribed by the owner's manual of any TrunkTracker.
If your desire is to listen to only one talkgroup ; rather then 'HOLD'
the talkgroup using 'HOLD', 'MANUAL' button ; and miss all of the
APBs including ones made by the dispatcher of the talkgroup you
are holding. Simple turn off the 'Status Bit Mode', program into the
Scan List the desired talkgroup. Next program in the ID+7 of every
dispatch channel into its own vacant Memory. And make sure both the
desired talkgroup entry & the ID+7 of every dispatch channel is left
'UNLOCKED', now put your radio into 'SCAN' mode. Easy fix.
Again not prescribed by the manuals, but will allow for reception
of the previously missed APBs. If you want the ID+2 (emergency
buttons) don't forget to program in the ID+2 of every Dispatch
talkgroup too. Then when finished, hit 'SCAN'.
This work-around might be a problem for those with Trunktrackers
with the original 50 maximum scan list memories (examples
235xlt, 895xlt). It depends on how many dispatch talkgroups you
have on your local system.
Let's hope the next breed of Trunktrackers have the Multi-Select
fix, so we do not have to waste using extra scan lists. (Though
the scan list size limitation is not necessarily a problem for our
newer Trunktrackers).
