Tom and the group, I remember reading somewhere that the current limiter
inside the scanner (there should be one) cuts down the current going to the
battery pack to 200ma. I believe Uniden used a 500ma wal-wart to supply
enough current to charge the battery WHILE USING the scanner. I'm not sure
what the current draw is but I'm sure it's more than the BC-245 especially
with the BCi25D card installed.
I also have the Metrowest Pro-power 3 charger/scanner stand that I used for
my BC-235/245/3000 but it only puts out 130ma so I don't know it it will
actually charge the battery if I have the scanner on while charging. Even if
the scanner is off I wonder if 130ma is enough to get through the current
limiter and charge the battery? Any electonics gurus have an idea?
I might try to modify the charger to put out 200ma.
I just got my BC-250D and BCi25D on Wed and haven't had much time to play but
it seems to work great on Moto Type II conventional and Astro Digital TRS's
It sounds just like my Astro Saber on the digital TRS.
