They are usuaully found on the 800 and maybe 900
bands.
S.C.A.T. = Single Channel Autonomous Trunking
V.O.C. = Voice On Control
S.C.A.T. is E.D.C.S. brands of a single frequency
trunking system while V.O.C. is the Motorola brand.
Each trunking method is desinged for users that want
trunking but do NOT anticipate alot of traffic or just
need to fill - in coverage gaps with a single
frequency trunking system. I believe that Regular and
Multinet forms of L.T.R. do NOT have this type of
feature.
What happens is this: The repaeter stays in Control
Channel Mode until somebody keys up and then they can
basically talk on the control channel/frequency.
Once the conversation is over the repeater once again
goes back to Control Channel Mode.
Somebody once stated that there is NO scanner that can
track a single frequency truking system like this.
