For crying out loud you two, stop the rediculous speculations!!!  Jerry,
there is no government agenda or conspiracy to stop the portable digital
scanner from coming out, there is no 9/11 fears delaying it, and there
are no black helicopters that are going to take your analog (and soon to
be digital) scanners away.  Jeff, stop trying to find a reason to be
afraid that the digital scanner won't be here.  Use some common sense -
the base scanner and the portable are two different scanners and require
two different FCC numbers.  Yes, they are both digital, have the same
specs, and use the same APCO-25 card.  BUT THEY ARE DIFFERENT SCANNERS -
they use different LCD displays, different board layouts, different power
supplies, etc etc etc.  STOP WORRYING the scanners will be here.
