[TrunkCom] BC785/250 Choice

Hey Michael,

Howdy. If I were making the same decision, I would first need to
determine what my needs really are. To begin with, these are going
to be brand new radios. In my opinion, better to let the first batch
out onto the market and see what the reviews are, before laying down
that kind of dough. Particularly since these are first generation
digital-capable radios, there is no telling what kinks there might be
in actual use. Other than those determinations, as you state;
portability is the only issue, as both models appear to have the same
specs. I may be wrong about that, but I just re-read the Uniden press
release and that's how I interpreted the statement. If I was only
going to get one or the other, I would opt for the hand-held, as it
gives you much greater flexibility. You can always attach an outdoor
antenna and the power supply to make it act more like a "base
station"!. Just my two cents. Good luck whatever your choice is!
Regards,
Jim
