Here's the official word from Uniden as I received it today:

"The forthcoming BC785D and BC250D scanners will be capable of 
monitoring P25 digital transmissions from conventional, 3600 baud 
mixed-mode and 3600 baud digital trunked systems."

This means the first generation P25 scanners will not track 9600 baud 
trunking, but will monitor the digital transmissions in conventional 
mode. As I see it, however, 9600 baud trunking capability is close by. 
Fortunately, there are not too many 9600 baud systems out there... yet.

By the way, there is nothing else out there that will track a 9600 baud 
system either, short of a Motorola radio.
