I just read on strong signals that the new scanners may be delayed until Jan
2003.
This is not confirmed. If it is true it is is unacceptable. For Uniden to
make so many press releases and tout the availability of this product in
November and then  not be able to make this deadline is reprehensible.
   If the delay is just rumor then it's fine, but if it is true, then it is a
HUGE dissapointment.
   This is holiday time. Most people cannot afford this scanner and will get
it as a gift. Or get a gift for themselves.
     So the new scanner will be released and will be sitting on the shelves
with an MSRP costing between $600 to $1000+. Just in time for people to get
stunned with holiday shopping bills, IRS1040's and the like. Now they gotta
spend more money?? I don't think so. Release what you can in November, so
some of us can have them. To release them after holiday time is a bad
decision.
    There is no way these units will sell at this time.
