[TrunkCom] UHF LTR radios and Motorola 800 MHZ trunked system and interoperability

Hi everyone.  I am just wondering if UHF ltr radios are able to operate on
an 800 MHz trunked system?  I know that Moto and LTR radios can operate
 on each other's systems, but the reason why I ask is because we have an
interesting situation in Detroit.  Here DPD is preparing to move to 800
MHz Astro trunking, but the schools in Detroit have purchased talk group
space and radios that they are using on an LTR SMR.  This LTR system is on
420 MHz, and I would think that once DPD makes the move to 800 MHz that
the schools would want to talk to them.  Short of purchasing Astro radios
in addition to what they have if UHF LTR and 800 don't work together radio
wise,what could the options be?
